About Us

Winner of the Channel Chamber Networker of the Year award 2007, Jo Dodds started her own business publishing local community magazines in South East Kent in 2005, now publishing the Hythe Handbook, and helping small businesses to better marketing themselves online, and credits most of her business growth to networking. In early 2007 David Wimble, at the time her business partner in The Marsh Handbook, decided to start the Kent Business Network and informed Jo that she was to run it with him! They met whilst members of another local network and found that the half hour break between the formal parts of the meeting were the most enjoyable and were where the relationships were built that created the business referrals. So they decided to create a new network that took the ‘half hour bit’ and devote the whole evening to it! It was a great success and in April 2008 when Jo decided to reorder her business and when David took over the Marsh Handbook as well as started another company, they parted ways and Jo relaunched the Kent Business Network as the Counterpoint Networking.

Simon, Jo’s long suffering(!) husband was roped in early on to act as Treasurer; mainly so that Jo could spend more time meeting and greeting visitors and less time asking for money!  Simon also runs his own business helping people to save money on their utility bills.
